Assimilation
Assimilate means absorb and integrate peoples ideas or cultures, which usually involves themselves.. While reading A Raisin in the Sun, Beneatha Younger assimilated herself because she is an African-American, and she try's to act something that she is not by almost trying to be white. Beneatha's hair is an example of her assimilation towards herself. When Asagai comes over and he says how she is "assimilated" because of how she doesn't let her natural hair flow and how she straightens it all the time. Since Beneatha feeling as if she is in need to change things about herself it may be a weakness towards herself and her family. If African-Americans wanted freedom they should show who they are and be proud that they are who they are. There are others, besides Beneatha, in the real world that do the same thing. There are children, teenagers, and even adults that feel the need to hide who they are. People can assimilate by dressing a certain way, changing their hair color, or even changing the way they talk. They do these things because some feel that they look better a certain way, feel better about themselves knowing that they are changing something about there culture or appearance. I do not feel the need to change anything about my culture or appearance as some may. Eric Lui, the writer of Notes of a Native Speaker, came to the United States to attend college. Eric had got influenced by the crowds he hung out with. When he attended college he had socialized with a lot of white people. He explained how differently they acted from how he did at home. He explained how his white friends would eat properly and how at his home the educate was so much different. That was during his Freshman year of college, but he looked back at his Senior-dinner and he realized he was Chinese and nothing else. He had nothing to change about himself nor act of something he is not.

Family or Myself?
The question of what is more important, my family or myself. The answer is easy, my family. My family always come first in my life, but, of course, next to my school work. My family has been there through the ups and downs with me. From the very beginning my parents have been there for me since the day I was born. When you have problems. of course you have your friends, but in the end no one is going to understand you better than your family. Everyone has their own individual desires, but no one will get you there with out help from your family. Family will give you all types of encouragement to get through anything. Your family is the one shaping you into the wonderful young lady, gentlemen, or even the adult you are today. You have your fights, but you always make up. In the end, the love for my family will never die.

The American Dream
The American Dream for people is to get rich. People want to have a nice house and just a great life in general. People don't want to have any problems with the government, money, or any sort of thing. The American Dream is just a fantasy people have to look up to, because not everybody in the world has nice things, money, a car,or a house. When there are people out in the world that have none of that that is where the American Dream come.
My American Dream would be to join the Navy and become a corpsman, have a family in the future, nice car and a roof over my head. Money would be nice, but to me just a family to love is the best type of American Dream. Plus, doing something I want and would love to do, why would I ask for anything better? I would have all I want their. The American Dream can be any dream a person wants. It just all depends if they can make that dream come true.

Simply Me.
Hello, my name is Tiffani and this is my Blogger. I love the being myself, even if it grosses people out. I don't have much self-confidence in myself but I hope to build that up every year. I love the color purple and obsessed with owls. My favorite subject is English, but duel credit English does get difficult, but I know I can do it! I have I dog named Tito and he is really odd. I'm in NJROTC I'm exhibition commander, and I'm the Admin Officer. I do all the paper work in ROTC, I don't really mind, but it is a hard job. I plan to join the Navy right after high school; I want to be a corpsman. I love hanging out with my friends, even if I don't have much time anymore. I enjoy every second with my family even though they get on my nerves sometimes. In my house hold I have close to nine people living here; which is okay with me! Some people may not approve but I do want tattoos when I'm older. My dream tattoos right now are a cherry blossom tree and, of course, an owl. Some people think my owl obsession is just a phase, but it really isn't! I really don't like when I text people and they don't text properly. It really bugs the crud out of me, so I always have to ask why they don't type in complete words. I think that is really it about me for now, but I hope you enjoy my future blogs!
